Intermittency means we haven't found it yet.
I've been doing it all wrong.
I thought the Achilles Heel of renewables was intermittency, and we were stuck with it.
That was my perception.
Definitely the reason why I am always focussed on "the grid battery".
But now I see that having this perception has limited me.
I am breaking free at this very moment.
I do not accept that premise anymore.
Renewables can be consistent.
As good, or better than coal.
Intermittency means we haven't found it yet.
I've been looking in the wrong place, "thinking" renewables could not be consistent... and needed a fix, a giant battery, that also had to be renewable!
We have an intermittent power source that we use to charge a battery so we can keep the lights on, or until the next charge... and we want to expose that level of insecurity to the grid? Doesn't seem right, does it?
Why? Because it is all based around intermittency, and then you need backup.
Is that the mind-set?
Q. Do you believe renewables are intermittent?
Q. Or do believe we haven't found the right renewable yet?
Q. Do you believe there will be a consistent type of renewable?
Let's just imagine what that might mean - a consistent renewable energy as good as coal, better, faster, cleaner, better for the environment. Everybody happy.
Electricity From Air.
